How it works

This campaign is an independent fundraiser, with all proceeds going directly to ReliefAid.

1. First, we calculate your monthly tax cut based on your annual salary.
2. Then, you choose how much of your tax cut you’d like to donate each month, or if you prefer to make a one-off donation.
3. Once you’ve selected the amount, all you need to do is submit your payment details.

Direct donation to ReliefAid

The purpose of this campaign is to make it easy to work out how much to give, and give it directly.

So when you make your donation, the money goes directly into ReliefAid’s NZ Stripe account. You will receive a receipt directly from ReliefAid following each donation.

Your details will only be stored by ReliefAid, who will provide your donation receipts. View our Privacy Statement for more information.

Note: Stripe takes a small transaction fee for each donation. This is the only fee taken from your donation.

Managing your donation

If you need to cancel or change your monthly donation at any stage, you can do so by visiting the Stripe Billing Portal.

How the calculator works

Our calculator assumes you are employed and earning a salary. It only considers tax cuts due to changes in individual income tax rates and thresholds that came into effect from 1 July 2024.

Based on the salary you provide, we calculate what your previous annual tax was compared to your new annual tax. We then divide this by 12 to get your monthly tax cut amount.

Note: Results may differ slightly from actual results or other tax cut calculators. These discrepancies can occur due to differences in rounding methods and calculation algorithms.
